Picture Day!

Funny thing, Wednesdays are usually the big day for cool horses hitting the for sale sites! Oh well, have a picture break instead...

This cool boy is named Dibs, he's a gelding, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was a homozygous tobiano! Heterozygous tobianos can be heavily spotted, but most of 'em with this much spotting are homozygous. Dibs is even cooler because he is so minimal.  A non-body-spotted-spotty-tobiano!

He is not bay, but instead is a very nice example of a seal brown.  What a nice face he has!  Look closely at the right fore - at first glance, it looks solid (which would be cool in itself, three-socked tobianos aren't very common) but you can see there are white markings on it.  He has a very short sock there, mostly obliterated by the spotting.

How cool is that tail?  He may have a spot on his butt, or it may actually be on his tailbone.  Some tobianos with no body white and bi-colored tails are marked this way - the only pinto spot (other than on the legs) is on the tailbone.

A closer look, including the black ring around his coronet, mostly likely actually comprised of a number of close-fitting spots.  Look again at the preceding picture - the spots are further spaced on that foot.  This is why that right front foot almost looks solid colored!
